Casual Dress Days

Free dress days are considered a privilege.  Students are expected to adhere to good grooming and neatness on these days.   A student will lose the privilege of a non-uniform dress if they disregards restrictions below.  When there is a question, the appropriateness of the attire will be decided by the administration.

Clothing should be appropriate and modest for school.
  • Properly fitting jeans may be worn as long as they are not baggy, faded, torn, bleached, frayed or cut.  Jeans (or pants) must be hemmed and of appropriate length (no longer than heel length).

  • Shorts and/or skirt length should conform to uniform guidelines for boys and girls, and may not be frayed or cut.

  • Socks or stockings must be worn with respective shoes.  Shoes should be sturdy, closed-toe, and flat-soled for safety reasons.

The following types of clothing are unacceptable on non-uniform days:
  • Undershirts, tank, spaghetti-strap or bare-midriff tops.

  • Inappropriate slogans or logos on clothing.

  • Baggy or over-sized clothing.

  • “Camouflage” (army fatigues)-type clothing.

  • Hats of any type.

  • Sandals, clogs, open shoes or excessive heels.

If in doubt, check for approval in advance or don’t wear it.
