About Consultative School Board
The Consultative School Board at Our Lady of Malibu School was established in 2009 by Fr. William Kerze to support the pastor and principal in guiding the school.
Comprised of parents, alumni, parishioners, and community members, the board is dedicated to advancing OLM’s mission and commitment to Catholic education. Members contribute their time, expertise, and resources through meetings, committee work, and school development initiatives while upholding the school’s Catholic values.
Meet our Board Members
Father Rene Haarpainter
Father Rene serves as pastor of Our Lady of Malibu and provides spiritual leadership and support to the school community. He works closely with school leadership, faculty, students, and families to strengthen OLM’s Catholic identity and foster a welcoming, faith-filled community.
Principal - Elisa Zimmerman
As principal of Our Lady of Malibu School, Elisa Zimmerman is committed to fostering a welcoming, faith-filled community where every student is known, supported, and challenged to reach their full potential. She works closely with faculty, families, and parish leadership to support OLM’s tradition of academic excellence while nurturing the spiritual, social, emotional, and intellectual growth of each child.
Dawn Cunnion
Dawn and her husband Bob have been Malibu residents and OLM parishioners for over 20 years. Dawn holds a BS in Elementary Education, an MEd in Educational Administration, and an EdD in Educational Administration and Policy Studies.
An experienced educator and school administrator, Dawn currently serves as Associate Head of Brentwood School. Her career spans classroom teaching, school leadership, admissions, and curriculum development at both Catholic and independent schools across the country.
Dawn has also served on several educational boards, including Loyola University’s School of Education Advisory Board and the Westmark School Board of Trustees. A longtime member of the OLM School Board, she previously served as Chair from 2011 to 2015 and returned to the board in 2019, where she currently serves as Board Chair.
Debra Domeyer
Debra and her husband Jerry have been OLM parishioners for over 20 years, and their twin daughters, Jacqueline and Nicole, attended OLM from kindergarten through eighth grade. Debra previously served on the School Board and coordinated the parish’s Liturgical Ministries.
A seasoned technology executive with over 25 years of experience, Debra has held leadership roles in digital media, artificial intelligence, finance, and emerging technologies. Her accomplishments include being named one of InfoWorld’s Top 25 CTOs and Computerworld’s Premier 100 IT Leaders. She also served at the White House, overseeing worldwide communications for the President, Vice President, and Secret Service.
Debra remains committed to community service, philanthropy, and expanding opportunities through education and workforce development.
Pam Litz
Pam Litz has been a Malibu resident and OLM parishioner since 1986. A graduate of Mount St. Mary’s College, she taught English and mathematics at Hawthorne High School for 18 years, serving as head of the English department.
While her son Jonathan attended OLM, Pam was an active volunteer and substitute teacher, earning Volunteer of the Year honors in 2001. She has served on the OLM School Board at various times over the past three decades and remains involved in parish life through Bible study and as a former RCIA catechist.
Pam is a proud mother and grandmother of two who loves traveling and the Olympics, having attended 15 Games. She hopes to volunteer at the Los Angeles Olympics in 2028, just as she did in 1984.
Nick Hale
Nick Hale is a longtime Malibu resident, entrepreneur, and real estate investor. With a background in business finance, he previously served as CFO of Santa Barbara Magazine and C California Style Magazine and currently leads Hale & Associates, LLC, a real estate investment company.
A dedicated Christian with experience in church leadership and financial stewardship, Nick values faith-based education and community involvement. His two daughters, Leighton and Carrington, attended Our Lady of Malibu School, inspiring his commitment to supporting OLM and its mission.
